It's Fashion, Darling

I know these have been doing the rounds but they're painfully funny.
Just in time for London Fashion Week too.

Afternoon Jaunt

I went flying along the Welsh coast this afternoon and I properly flew the plane - throttle and all.
It was frickin' terrifying!

Good Clean Fun

When I grow up, please may I have these awesome tiles in my shower?!
The house I'm living in for the next few months is lovely but unfurnished. I am dreaming of living somewhere with all of my things around me and somewhere that feels 'complete', you know?
I know I'll need a mortgage to finance them but they're incredible.

The glow in the dark bath might be taking things a bit too far.

Moving Colour heat sensitive tiles in Northern Lights
Lucedentro photoluminescent ceramic mosaic bath
I'm rather shy to admit it but I don't use the upstairs bathroom in my cottage. It's a too little
nasty with a stained green bathtub and a scraggily worn brown carpet, so I've closed it up. This bathroom would sort it out perfectly (with some warming colour) and is definitely more country than the lustworthy tiles.

On the bathroom theme, I went to Marrakesh on a shoot years ago, and am still kicking myself that I didn't haggle for a mosaic basin. That may sound odd but they were brilliantly coloured mosaic bowls with a circle knocked out of the bottom for the plug hole. I assumed that if there were so many in the Medina then I could probably find one in London. No such luck. Perhaps I could make one, how impossible could it be?!

I can't for the life of me remember where I found these images but when I do, I promise to update the post.

Welsh Winters

Winter in Wales last year.

As breathtakingly stunning as it may be, I'm delighted it's not quite so cold.

The Perfect Pashley

My car has gone in for some tlc. I'm feeling a little isolated without wheels.
Perhaps it's all the fresh air but I'm properly lusting after a beautiful bicycle. Just why though did I have to fixate upon a £645 Regency Green Pashley Princess Sovereign?
I've therefore done the sensible thing and bought a lottery ticket.

Plucked at The Roundhouse

I really don't like to rain on peoples' parades, especially other artists, but the show I went to last night really was the pits. You kind of have faith in something that's shown at The Roundhouse, that it's not going to be rubbish, but Plucked; The Invisible Thread was pants. The only redeeming feature were the puppets; they were hauntingly beautiful. Otherwise, I can't stress enough, check reviews more carefully!

B-Store or Be Square

I am a very excited young lady. Liberty has announced that Tom Finch and Coville-Walker Studio will be creating an installation space (aka pop up) for B-Store of Saville Row. And the ladies will get a look in this time. Proper yay.

From 13-28th February on the 2nd Floor, and online. I'll have to make sure I am up in London.

Nutcracker!

I went to see Matthew Bourne's Nutcracker sort of en famille last night. It was flippin' brilliant.
Couldn't recommend it more!

Suri's Burn Book

This is too brilliant. So many back posts to catch up on!

Couch Potato

I am not sure slumber could get any better than these utterly heavenly pajamas from Lanvin that knocked the socks off everything else that hit net-a-porter last week.
I want, I want, I want. Please.

The new online night wear label Dote has some gorgeous pieces too.
Just what's in order for the freezing British winter.
Dote ivory Cotton Tuxedo Pajamas

Dote cashmere socks

Last summer my mother swanned down to breakfast one morning wearing the most beautiful silk dressing gown. It is from the label Ming B and the whole collection is amazing. There are cotton, silk and for the more dashing luxe-slumberer, velvet. Yes please.

And the label that has been having a lot of press recently is Olivia von Halle's collection of silk pajamas. They really are rather gorgeous, and I love the piping. The behind-the-scene-shoot is quite fun too.

Sleeping Beauties

Did you know that sea otters link arms so that they don't drift away from one another when they sleep?

A World Without Eve

The photographer Eve Arnold has died aged 99. The war photographer Robert Capa said that her work: "falls metaphorically between Marlene Dietrich's legs and the bitter lives of migratory potato pickers."

Eve had known Marilyn Monroe for ten years by the time she photographed her on the set of The Misfits.
Arnold photographed Marlene Dietrich here at the Colombia Road recording studios in 1952.
Arnold notes: "It was a wet and cold November night and work could only begin at midnight, at the advice of Marlene's astrologer.
Arnold took this shot of a bargirl in a brothel in the red light district of Havana, Cuba in 1954.
A story shot for Queen focussed on the lives of four girls sharing an apartment.

Gatsby Fever

Has anyone else noticed the plethora of drop waist dresses creeping onto the scene recently?
As a girl with no waist I'm loving this look and can't help but think it may be due to the remake of F. Scott Fitzgerald's The Great Gatsby. I know the book is loved by many but I found the characters too selfish & tiresome. But with Baz Luhrmann directing it'll be a visual feast.
And the clothes, the clothes will be incredible.
